A Few Notes and Secondary Sources:
as we move in to an era where clunky, outdated hardware has supposedly been overtaken by its digital counterpart, we find ourselves falling back through an “analog renaissance” (Sax, 2016). It is this sort of nostalgic callback that has captivated me to make a digital artefact on the relationship between analog and digital artists.
Though, not all analog mediums have felt the resounding booming sales and production. Though Vinyls sit at a resale high not seen in 25 years, outrunning its digital competitor (Ellis-Petersen, 2017), mediums such as analog literature and performance are still struggling to emerge from their niche market, held back by price, prestige and accessibility (Craig, 2017).
