D.A. Pitch

Oh my blog

Before enrolling into Future Cultures I had absolutely no idea what a digital artefact was, I’m still not entirely sure I completely understand it but I’ll give this pitch a red hot go anyways! In BCM325 we are encouraged to think about the future, what does it look like in 2 years? 10 years? 100 years? This seemed like a good starting place for my project. I have my own ideas of what my future looks like and ideas for how I will get there, but I want to know what other people- people who have the ability to create the future, are doing. What are the goals for researchers in medicine? What is the future of agriculture? What will advances in technology like artificial intelligence mean for humans in a future world? These are the things I will explore by creating 3 short videos, interviewing people who are not…

  1. I love the idea of separating your findings into 3 videos, similar to that of a cohesive series. Interviewing others about their perceptions of the future will be very interesting because a student studying Arts will hold a different view to that of a student pursuing a degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). In this process you could also gather the individuals you interview for a group discussion/debate to further emphasise how the world is progressing in many different directions. Will you also present your views as a part of the series? Could your views possibly change throughout this process? What personally caught my eye is the research about AI and notably Forbes is interested too with this article attached below ‘5 Important Artificial Intelligence Predictions (For 2019) Everyone Should Read’

  2. Hi Dakoda, I noticed that your DA is divided into three short videos to interview people from different fields of work. They are interviewed about their future predictions in this field. This is a good form of feedback. In addition, I feel that you can also conduct a brief interview or survey of students of different majors to see how the students think differently from those who have already worked. Because in my opinion, people of different ages may represent the future development of different time periods. Here is an article about 10 Futurist Predictions in the World of Technology. I hope it can help you in different areas, or help you in an area. Thank you for your pitch.
