Inspired by the recent $70 million dollar sale of Beeple’s Non-Fungible Token (NFT) digital art piece, I decided to pursue the future of art for my DA. I will be exploring through a 3- part blog series how blockchain technology, cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens are altering the future of art as we know it and what this means in regard to what constitutes art, how art is sold and how art is “owned” over the course of the next 5-10 years.
