Elena

Elena’s digital artefact is a UOW Creative internship where she is running the uni’s TikTok account.

Tik Tok is a tricky platform to use, especially since it’s so new and people are still figuring out effective ways to reach their target audience.

I suggested she keep up with using Twitter to find UOW student accounts.

Additionally, I included two articles. One on the background of TikTok and it’s purpose, and the other discussing how users can now send virtual gifts over the app.

Isabella

Isabella is doing her DA on the future of feminism. She did very well with incorporating her Pitch’s feedback into her project which has shown great iteration.

Rather than just finding an article for my peer review comment, I decided to search for a podcast which discusses ongoing feminism within pop culture. I also came across feminist themes in different Beyonce songs, who is…

Brief overview

This semester, I’ve been working on an internship with UOW Creative. UOW Creative is an extension of UOW Marketing where it focuses on showcasing local artists’ work. These artists are current students, alumni, potential future students, and relevant creative content.

The platforms UOW Creative have are…

Instagram

Twitter

Tik Tok

I have been working on the Instagram platform with a team of 3 people.

How UOW Creative addresses the future

Based on the pages positive growth, I believe this DA has a lot of potential to grow in the future.

Future for the audience:

By encouraging local artists to create content, it gives them a platform to showcase their work, network and collaborate with others, and is a safe space for someone to express themselves and receive helpful feedback. It gives people a strong sense of pride when they see how well their work has been received by…

#LiveTweeting

steff harris

It took me some time to realise the importance of live-tweeting. At first I thought it was more of a way to just check if we’re still alive for an 8:30 tutorial, but what do you know? There’s much more to it.

Live tweeting kept me focused and attentive to what was going on in front of me. I found myself searching for hidden “clues” in the movie as to what would happen next. I tried to put myself inside of the directors head, focusing on messages being sent to the audience; the aesthetics (camera angles, lighting, tone, music); the themes of the film; the feeling the views get.

I focused on all of these bits and pieces in the film while simultaneously switching back to my notes, various tabs, replying to tweets, and refreshing the BCM325 Twitter feed.

Live tweeting keeps you in the moment. It allowed…

Critical Self-Evaluation

steff harris

The aim of BCM325 digital artefact is to create and predict a future. A future that is personal to someone, a future of an industry, a product, a service, a place; the possibilities are endless. In this post, I will highlight my contribution to three student’s project pitches.

Isabella

Isabella’s project will focus on the future of feminism. She would like to explore feminist themes in films, shows, and other forms of media.

I thought that this was a really great topic to explore as we are now entering into a new feminist movement. I suggested that she breaks her project up into the various feminist waves throughout history and continue on to where we are now, especially in the media. By looking at the past, she can determine what key changes were made and the *pace* in which they were made which could help determine the future.

I recommended…

Life After COVID-19

steff harris

BCM325 Pitch

For my BCM325 digital artefact, I wanted to focus on a future after COVID-19. The reasons behind this may be apparent, but we are now living in a time where chaos has spread globally. Each and every country has been and will continue to be affected by the virus in some way. This can be on a macro-level (eg. international trade), or on a micro level (eg. short pasta supply).

I believe this speaks to the future as it may help encourage productive discussion rather than pure panic. Starting a discussion on the future may help to plan ahead, raise awareness, and create viable solutions.

For my project, I will be creating a series of blog posts which discusses a subtopic relating to a post-COVID future. My current blog post ideas are…

The future of:

  • Trade
  • Businesses
  • Education
  • Food
  • Products
  • Consumerism
  • Tourism
  • Surveillance
  • Technology
  • Social Media
